Aníbal Moreno Leaves Door Open for River Plate Move

Aníbal Moreno, former Racing midfielder, has publicly commented on the possibility of becoming a River Plate reinforcement. The player confirmed his intention to leave Palmeiras and return to Argentina after two years in Brazil. Moreno, who participated in a charity match in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, his hometown, stated that he is not aware of the negotiations that already link him to River. 'I haven't held my cell phone in my hand for three hours, I haven't seen anything, no one has told me anything. That is the message my representative has,' he explained. In this context, it emerged in recent hours that River has made an offer close to seven million dollars for the player's entire contract, a figure close to the expectations of the Palmeiras board, where the Argentine has lost prominence. 'I'm here with the guys, I haven't spoken to my agent at all. As I've always said, one misses family, one misses the city, and if it happens, then so be it,' he affirmed, in a statement that reinforces the idea of a departure from Palmeiras, the club he joined in 2023 from Racing and with whom he has a contract until December 2029. 'It's the right decision, we're preparing for the year, starting well,' he added when asked about his present and future. Specifically asked about a possible return to Racing, the midfielder avoided leaning towards any particular destination: 'I don't prefer anything. When I pick up the phone, we'll see what's out there,' he repeated throughout the day, according to Argentine News Agency. Beyond that apparent ignorance, Moreno acknowledged his desire to settle back in Argentina: 'I don't close the door to anyone. We've talked about several things with my agent, fortunately, and I think we've accelerated the most serious things, what one believes will do them good.'
